Today DGSM took a trip to Loch Katrine with a cruise on the steamship, The Sir Walter Scott. The steamship was built in 1899 and we took a beautiful bottle of Hazelburn 23yr old, distilled in 1999. So a 100 year separation in dates of production between the ship and this great bottle of whisky. This single cask of 72 bottles bottled at 46% natural cask strength and bottled in the winter of 2022, age 23yrs. This is believed to be one of the oldest Hazelburn bottling to date. We thought the 100 year difference in age was a lovely aspect to highlight. Our picture was taken at Loch Katrine today, unfortunately the steamship was out on the loch and the weather was a bit overcast, but enjoyable nonetheless. Slainte
